Traditional Events
at Fellowship of the Spirit

There is, however, a vast amount of fun about it all.
Alcoholics Anonymous, page 16

Over the years, conference participants have created numerous events, which have become part of the FOTS tradition:

Jam Session
Bring yer git-fiddle and yer harmoniker.
Bring your saxophone and your clarinet.
Bring your singer, your clapper and your finger-snapper.
Mama don't 'low no frownin' roun' here!

It's a free-form, free-flowing hootenanny jam session for one and all. But don't be late comin' 'round the mountain; the jam session happens Thursday night, for a fun event kickoff.

Potluck Picnic
Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie, and who knows what all—Friday at 11:30 AM we have a finger-lickin' good time. Cook something, bring something to cook, or visit the grocery across the road, but join us. Bring something to grill if you like and a sidedish to share. All tableware, drinks, condiments, barbecue pits, and charcoal will be provided. Please also bring a blanket, or your own folding chairs. The picnic is free of charge.

Campfire Meeting
Mountain drought and fire restrictions have sometimes limited the flames, but intrepid FOTS participants always have a campfire meeting after the Friday night speaker. In some wet years, it's been a full-fledged bonfire. One very dry year it was a flashlight meeting. It can be a gas-fired fire ring, but it's always warm and spiritual. Bring a flashlight for easy navigating.

Directions:
Leaving Copper Mtn resort on Copper Road, turn left onto Highway 91. Stay in the right lane and go right onto I-70 East. Go 2.3 miles to Officers Gulch, EXIT #198. Go to the stop sign at the end of exit ramp; turn left and go under I-70. Go straight about 150 yards through a green gate. Take the first left 100 feet and park on the Pavement!

The campfire will be in the Meadow, next to the paved parking.

Please bring your own chair.

Dance
After the Saturday night speaker meeting we dance. Come one, come all, young or old, cool or clutzy—do as the spirit moves you! This year's theme is "70's" FUNK. Anything goes from Flower Child thru Saturday Night Fever. Dig out your Crazy sun glasses and your tie dyed tee-shirts and come BOOGIE!!!

Meditation
The book Alcoholics Anonymous suggests evening and morning prayer and meditation. Optional group meditations are a FOTS tradition. Come for a quiet time with your fellow trudgers on the Road of Happy Destiny—every day at 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
