Workshops

The heart of the Fellowship of the Spirit Conference is the step workshops. They begin with a Step One session at 3:00 PM Thursday, and continue through Saturday afternoon. The Conference Program lists the workshops and their scheduled times.

AA and Al-Anon members participate together in these meetings. A panel of AAs and Al-Anons lead off every workshop. Each panelist gives a short talk on his or her personal experience with the step. Panelists discuss how they've used the Big Book, Alcoholics Anonymous, both in their own work, and with those they sponsor.

After the panelist's presentations, audience members may participate from a floor microphone. All conference participants are welcome to share and ask questions. You can step to the microphone to share your spiritual truth, or simply listen to others. Between the panelists and the audience participants, a wide variety of powerful recovery experience is available.

Between sessions, people often meet and further discuss ideas that emerged in the workshops. Many FOTS participants have experienced profound growth in themselves and in their sponsorship work as a result of these sessions.
