Al-Anon Family Groups

Al-Anon

Al-Anon has been an integral part of Fellowship of the Spirit from the beginning. A sizable number of Al-Anon members attend the conference each year, some accompanying the recovering alcoholics in their lives, and many attending by themselves or with other Al-Anons. Al-Anons participate actively in the step workshops that are the core of the main conference program. They are included in the panels and are encouraged to contribute their experience strength and hope from the floor.
One of the conference’s five main speakers is always an Al-Anon member, and will speak on Friday evening.
There is one planned Al-Anon meeting each day with opportunities for spontaneous Al-Anon meetings and gatherings throughout the conference. All of the Al-Anon meetings are open and everyone is invited to attend. We also encourage AA members to participate in these meetings to become familiar with Al-Anon and our primary purpose “to help friends and families of alcoholics” and/or to see if Al-Anon is right for them too!
Al-Anon members from across the nation and around the world are invited to join us in the Colorado mountains to share in The Fellowship of the Spirit.

Alateen

At this time there is no Alateen program for Fellowship of the Spirit Conference 2024.
However Fellowship Of The Spirit welcomes all members and we encourage you to come and participate.

Suggested Alateen Preamble to the Twelve Steps Alateen

Part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, Alateen is a fellowship of young people whose lives have been affected by alcoholism in a family member or close friend. We help each other by sharing our experience, strength, and hope. We believe alcoholism is a family disease because it affects all the members emotionally and sometimes physically. Although we cannot change or control our parents, we can detach from their problems while continuing to love them. We do not discuss religion or become involved with any outside organizations. Our sole topic is the solution of our problems. We are always careful to protect each other’s anonymity as well as that of all Al-Anon and AA members. By applying the Twelve Steps to ourselves, we begin to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We will always be grateful to Alateen for giving us a wonderful, healthy program to live by and enjoy. More info about Alateen can be found at the Colorado Al-Anon website: The Alateen Fellowship
